Abstract

Nano-biofertilizer has recently been shown to alter plant growth through a variety of physiological and morphological changes which many improves the quality of plant and increase its active constitutes concentration. Moringa oleifera L. is a promising plant to treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) because of its potent anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering, and antioxidant properties. Consequently, this research aims to investigate the impact of ZnO-nano-biofertilizer on Moringa oleifera L extract. The vegetative growth characteristics, and total phenolic and flavonoid contents were evaluated. Thirty-six rats were randomized to six groups and the effect of Moringa oleifera L. extract and Moringa oleifera L. extract with ZnO-nano-biofertilizer on rats fed with high-fat diet (HFD) was studied. The experimental animal results showed that Group (4) fed with HFD and Moringa oleifera L. extract with ZnO-nano-biofertilizer significantly improved liver functions, lipid profile, oxidative stress, inflammatory markers and possessed a superb effect considering the gross anatomical morphology and histopathological score of inflammation and steatosis as well as significantly reduced de novo lipogenesis and mi-RNA expression. In conclusion, ZnO-nano-biofertilizer improved the quality of Moringa oleifera L. and increased the its antioxidant activity. This effect positively reflected the improvement in the ability of Moringa oleifera L. extract to mitigate NASH in vivo.
