Moridae, Neobythitidae, and Bythitidae (Gadiformes: Moridae, Ophidiiformes) of Nha Trang Bay, South China Sea, central Vietnam

Abstract

The review is given of Moridae, Neobythitidae, and Bythitidae of Nha Trang Bay (central Vietnam); the descriptions are given for every species. Two species from the families Moridae (Lotella sp. cf. tosaensis and Physiculus longifilis) and Neobythitidae (Sirembo jerdoni and S. imberbis) and one representatives of family Bythitidae, I failed to classify which. The nomenclature was determined more exactly of Sirembo species found in South China Sea. Representatives of genus Lotella and family Bythitidae first are reliably reported for the fauna of Vietnam, and genus Lotella first for South China Sea. Additionally, information is presented about the capture of not identified up to species and probably new for science representatives of genus Physiculus in Gulf of Tonkin near the coast of Vietnam.
