Abstract

Spores of bryophytes and pteridophytes, and pollen grains of gymnosperms and angiosperms are analyzed from 15 samples of a 150 cm long sediment core collected in a palm swamp growing in central Brazil. The core represents a time span between 11.370+70 and 1440+25 years BP. The morphology of 92 taxa identifi ed was described and illustrated, and the modern ecological appeals inferred from the extant related taxa were provided. The descriptions and illustrations intend to contribute to the knowledge of the Cerrado pollen fl ora and provide reference material to paleoenvironmental reconstruction in areas today covered by this or related biomas.
