Abstract

The meteoric growth of Esports, coupled with a mounting interest in online gambling, paved the way for the phenomenon known as skin gambling—online gambling conducted with digital items rather than cash. Skin gambling is highly unregulated and has largely evaded legal scrutiny, facilitating issues such as underage gambling, addiction, match fixing, and scandals. As the Esports industry continues to flourish, skin gambling will inevitably continue to gain traction, making the need for immediate legal regulation and oversight critical.
