Abstract
It is known that the classical Sabine's formula and the associated formula for the steady-state diffuse sound field in an enclosed space are rather approximate. The author of this note has derived more precise ones for rectangular rooms, taking as a basis only the wave theory of acoustics. Brief results are presented.
