Abstract

A RE AMERICAN CITIES overbuilt with new office space today? The question is timely. In the past 15 years constructions have gone up all over the United States. Downtown business cores have entirely renovated faces in many cities. Building activity has boomed in several great cities. In New York City the office area has expanded sharply to fill Manhattan's requirements as a business and financial capital. What is being seen in new commercial buildings is brought about by our growing population in a national economy of broadening scope and complexity. There is, too, the advertising value to a corporate image when operating in new, prideful headquarters named for the prime tenant. Doing business today requires much more and better electrical hardware and numerous office appliances, paraphernalia and equipment.
