Abstract

One of dangers of the immigration process in Ukraine is the crime rate’s increasing. As usual, immigrants have different, than residents, both appearance and moral features. That’s why researching moral and psychological features of criminal’s personality, who is an immigrant in Ukraine, will further create an integrated «portrait» of this type of criminals for developing well founded crime prevention measures. The goal of the article is to describe moral and psychological aspects of criminological characteristics of the criminal’s personality, who is an immigrant in Ukraine (with a status of a foreigner or a stateless person). Based on an empirical study and results of a survey of law enforcement officials the author also tried to establish a connection between person’s nationality and a kind of committed crime.The complexity of scientific researching of moral and psychological features of a person lies in the fact that such features are deeply ingenerate and subjective. Criminologists says, that a person’s behavior choice depends on world view and moral principles, because every choice take precedence of want, motive and aim of activity, which are based on a person’s social ideal. This ideal is determined by current culture, civilization’s character and person’s capability to understand human’s being meaning. In the article the author paid attention to ethnopsychological peculiarities of criminals of different nations, type of their mentality and the problem of immigrants’ self-identification in admitting state. The conclusions of research are: 1) criminologists can’t totally deny or corroborate the inclination of some nationalities to commit certain crimes. More often the choice of type of committing crime depends on criminal «niche» in the criminal world, which is occupied of defined nations;2) the marginality as a feature of criminal’s personality, who is an immigrant in Ukraine, characterizes two main aspects, which can influence on criminal’s forming: the problem of immigrants’ self-identification in admitting state and identification with a criminal groups, composed on the nationality’s base.
