Abstract
Let a be an element of a C ∗ -algebra A satisfying a a † = a † a , where a † is the Moore–Penrose inverse of a and let b ∈ A . We study several spectral properties concerning the commutativity of a and b. We deduce some new and old results concerning EP matrices.
