Abstract

Corrado Rosso : Montesquieu studies since 1960. A review of studies on Montesquieu and his work since 1960. Currently available editions and biographical works are assessed ; the Lettres persanes, the Considérations, the Esprit des lois and minor works are dealt with separately ; also works concerning M. in the fields of sociology, anthropology, political philosophy, law, biology, statistics and demography ; works on his language, literary doctrines and theatre ; on his influence in Italy and other countries ; on his sources and influence on leading European figures and on later cultural and political movements.
