Abstract

The lattice SU(2) Higgs model is simulated at T = O and T ⋍ T c . Simple and efficient heatbath and reflection updates for the Higgs field are presented. It is shown how to determine a renormalized gauge coupling from Polyakov line correlations. For physical parameters g R 2 ⋍ 0.55 and m H / m W ⋍ 0.6, the surface tension at the finite temperature transition is obtained.
