Monte Carlo and series study of corrections to scaling in the Baxter-Wu model

Abstract

We compare the results of extensive Monte Carlo simulations with the exact solution and the series expansion for the Baxter-Wu model. Analysis of the series and of the Monte Carlo simulations show the leading corrections to the critical magnetization and energy to be nonanalytic and compatible with the exact solution. An in-depth discussion of the uniqueness of parameter determination for both cases is given.
