Abstract

Data on statistical feeding of discrete levels in 110Cd and 112Cd nuclei by γ-ray transitions following 108Pd(α, 2n) and 110Pd(α, 2n) reactions were analyzed by a new nuclear evaporation code. The dependence of side-feeding intensities on level excitation energy and projectile kinetic energy for individual levels in a spin region from 2 to 14 ħ was calculated using various models of the El strength function, discussed previously mainly in neutron-capture physics. The calculation satisfactorily reproduces features of the spin-dependent behavior of experimental side-feeding intensities. The effects of residual fluctuations were estimated.
