Abstract

AbstractIn this work, the behaviour of the error of a general two-point quadrature formula is studied. It is established that the error in question has a monotonicity property and that this is equivalent to the fact that the function defined as the difference of the average value of the integral and the quadrature — that is, the error — is Schur-convex.
