Abstract
Four complexes of the type [(η6-p-MeC6H4iPr)2Ru2Cl2(μ-Cl)(μ-SR)] were synthesized by treating p-cymene ruthenium dichloride dimer with thiols. These complexes, containing one thiolato and one chlorido bridge, represent the missing link in the stepwise formation of the well-known diruthenium trithiolato complexes [(η6-arene)2Ru2(μ-SR)3]+.
