Abstract

A completely monolithic quadrature demodulator for an optical heterodyne CPFSK receiver is reported for the first time. The demodulator is realised as a GaAs MMIC and operates up to 2.5 Gbit/s at an intermediate frequency of 9.8 GHz, yielding a receiver sensitivity of -42.5 dBm. >
