Abstract
AbstractMonodispersed polymer colloids with aldehyde and acetal functionalities, introduced by the macromonomer technique, were synthesized by a two‐step emulsion polymerization process. The latex samples so formed were chosen as the polymeric support to carry out covalent coupling with the antibody IgG anti‐C reactive protein, to test the utility of the latex–protein complexes formed in immunoassays. More than the 45% of the initially linked protein was covalently coupled in the acetal latex samples. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
