Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examines the changes in Dodoma between 2014 and 2021 using Landsat and night-time light (NTL) data. The results indicate that the built-up areas have grown by 47.1 km² between 2014 and 2021. The change point detection results of NTL time series data show that at one period (location 43) of the time series, the probability of a change is very high (> 0.70). This location corresponds to the year 2017. The Bayesian structural time series model results show that the relocation to Dodoma increased NTL by a statistically significant 81% (p < 0.001) from 2017.
