Abstract
An interferometric technique to monitor accurately the thinning process of vertical soap films during drainage is described. The approach is based on a four channel homodyne configuration in polarized light, allowing for high accuracy and fast acquisition rate. Computing algorithms taking into account the layered structure of the film are developed. Measurements on an aqueous solution of sodium dodecyl sulphate are presented.
