Abstract

Regional economic vitality refers to the ability and potential in regional economic development. The analysis and evaluation of regional economic vitality plays an important role in exploring effective ways to boost economic vitality and improve regional competitiveness. Taking Guangdong province as an example, this article explores various influencing factors on regional economic vitality, and constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system. Based on factor analysis, the index of regional economic vitality is quantified. The results show that the regional economic vitality of Guangdong province is unbalanced among different regions, which is mainly manifested in two ways: decreasing in all directions from pearl river delta area and higher in coastal area compared to inland area. Among the four factors of enterprise vitality, human capital, economic aggregate and external economic vitality, enterprise vitality has the greatest influence on regional economic vitality and the difference between regions is obvious. In addition, the trend factors of economic vitality development vary among regions. By quantifying and analyzing the regional economic vitality index, it is helpful to narrow the difference of regional economic vitality and promote the steady development of economy.
