Abstract

This research developed a system which monitors the growth of paddy rice by using a low-altitude remote sensing using spectroradiometer. In the crop yields’ estimation, the wavelength band of an ultraviolet range or a short wave infrared region was essential for the estimation of the result of the PLS regression analysis or the multiple linear regression analysis. Using these information, the estimation error of the crop yield was 12.78 [kg/10a]. Moreover, the estimation error of protein content was 0.149% by using the near infrared and the short wave infrared information. These results suggested that this low-altitude remote sensing system was able to obtain the variation of the crop status in the paddy rice fields. In addition, the information of the wavelength in short wave infrared was important to estimate the crop status.
