Abstract

Background: Physical activity modification and progressive loading exercises are key components of Achilles tendinopathy management. Over the course of rehabilitation, it is recommended to continue physical activities within the limits of pain tolerance and gradually and progressively recover the previous level of physical activity. This is important as symptomatic recovery does not guarantee physical activity recovery. However, the adoption of different physical activity modification strategies over time may interfere with the success of loading exercise programs.
