Abstract

Concentrations of Li, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Cd, Ba, Hg, and Pb in a moss species, Scleropodium purum, were compared with total deposition measurements in a French rural area. Native and transplanted mosses were used to study the possible influence of the canopy. The comparative responses of the apical or basal part of the moss stem to the deposition were also studied.
