Abstract

Aim: Liver cell transplantation (LCT) is a promising approach for treating certain liver diseases. However, monitoring of LCT is challenging. Labelling with micron-sized iron oxide particles (MPIO) enables detection of cells by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of non-invasive monitoring of LCT by MRI in a preclinical large animal model.
