Abstract

The general objective of this research is to propose a tool for monitoring the phenomenon of school dropout in technical courses integrated at the high school level at the IFMT - Campus Alta Floresta .. This objective is divided into four specific objectives. The first is to understand the phenomenon of school dropout in educational institutions that offer professional technical courses. The second, to structure electronic spreadsheets that allow visualizing the number of dropouts and graduates in a historical series. The penultimate in diagnosing causes that potentially lead the student to drop out of school in integrated technical courses at the secondary level. Finally, elaborate an action plan with the aid of the 5W2H tool for referral to the Internal Commission for Permanence and Success (CIPAPE) of the Alta Floresta Campus.Procedures / Method for solving the problem: The present study of an applied nature seeks to propose a solution to a practical problem, which is approached from a qualitative analysis based on a diagnosis of the rates (indices) and factors that lead to the phenomenon of school dropout. It is a descriptive research, supported by a bibliographic research in which the instruments of data collection will be supported by field survey (survey), document analysis and interviews with some audiences involved in the formal schooling processes. Results: It was identified that the process of monitoring the phenomenon of dropouton campus had limitations regarding the return of information extracted by the school record system. In this sense, an instrument was elaborated that allows to evaluate the phenomenon during the academic period and not only at the end of it, reaching the previously established objective. Practical implications: The artifact subsidizes the permanent commissions responsible for monitoring school dropout in professional technical courses, in the elaboration, exclusion, and expansion of institutional policies that allow the student to remain until its successful conclusion.Originality and contributions: The proposal presented is original and unfolds from the study of evaluation tools that allow measuring the effectiveness of public policies aimed at containing school dropout in public professional institutions. In addition, there is the possibility of disseminating the use of the instrument developed on other campuses that offer professional courses. The research is linked to Public Policiesand its contributions adhere to the line of scientific and tec hnological activities Organizations and Society.
