Abstract

Mid cut-off (MCO) membrane dialysis is a novel form of haemodialysis (HD) therapy designed to increase clearances of larger middle molecules and uraemic toxins but may result in short-term loss of albumin. REMOVAL-HD study aimed to determine if regular HD using MCO dialyser is safe and specifically will not result in a significant loss of albumin. This study also assessed the efficacy of larger middle molecules clearance and patient-centred outcomes in chronic HD patients.
