Abstract
The tensor correlations in nuclei are studied by paying special attention to the momentum-transfer dependence of nuclear spin-isospin transitions. In terms of projection operators, we formulate the renormalization of spin-isospin transition operators for electromagnetic excitation of nuclei. In particlar, the cross sections for the inelastic electron scattering and for the photoproduction of pions from 6Li have been calculated and the roles played in the transitions by the tensor force as well as other types of nuclear effective interactions are discussed.
