Abstract
Vacuum polarisation potentials of extended charge distributions are calculated using an efficient Fourier-Bessel method for the evaluation of folding integrals. In order to obtain a well defined and a quantitatively correct picture of vacuum polarisation effects, these potentials are employed to yield vacuum polarisation charge densities via Poisson's equation of classical electrostatics.
