Abstract

The Green function formalism for the description oft\(\bar t\) production ine+e− annihilation close to threshold is extended from the calculation of the total cross section to the prediction of momentum distributions of top quarks. The Lippmann-Schwinger equation is solved numerically in momentum space for the two loop QCD potential. The spectra ofW bosons from top quark decays are calculated and found to be strongly affected by the QCD potential and the large width of the top quark. If one aims towards a kinematic determination of the top quark mass and of thetbW coupling in the threshold region these effects must be taken into consideration.
