Abstract

The article gives a short overview over the phases of development of Person-centered Psychotherapy. Emphasis is given on Carl Rogers’ approaches on time-limited treatment. It is argued that Person-centered psychotherapy both, in its theory and in its practice, can legi-timately be considered as a brief-therapy. Characteristics of successful therapeutic moments are discussed. As a case example, a brief therapy including specific therapeutic moments is presented. It is argued that „relational empathy“ is a key agent of therapeutic movement, especially in group settings.
