Abstract

Based on Betti's reciprocal theorem, a displacement discontinuity boundary integral equation is derived for a Reissner plate with line cracks. The boundary element method is used to obtain the moment stress intensity factors for two collinear and parallel cracks. Displayed graphically are the numerical results for the moment stress intensity factors.
