Abstract

The method of moments is used to analyse the impact of square cylindrical dielectric loading on electrically thin circular cylindrical wire antennas. The dielectric inhomogeneity is modelled by equivalent volume polarization currents with the conduction currents on the wire and the polarization currents in the dielectric being treated as independent unknowns. The technique is very efficient in terms of computation time and can be used to analyse arbitrary dielectric loading on a wide variety of antenna structures.
