Abstract

Structure of two new molybdate complexes of Np(V) with composition of Cs2[(NpO2)2(MoO4)2(H2O)]·H2O (I) and Cs3[(NpO2)(MoO4)2] (II) has been studied. In structure I, two independent dioxocations NpO2+ are bound into pairs by the cation-cation interaction, one independent dioxocation being a ligand, and the other, a coordinating center. Two independent tetradentate-bridging molybdate ions bind pairs of dioxocations into the anionic skeleton. The coordination polyhedron of both Np atoms is the pentagonal bipyramid. Structure II has a chain-like structure with two independent bidentate-bridging molybdate ions binding dioxocations NpO2+ into anionic chains and the Np(1) atom having a coordination environment in the form of a tetragonal bipyramid the equatorial plane of which is formed by the oxygen atoms of four MoO42– anions.
