Abstract

Molybdate complexes of Np(V) with Li+ and Na+ cations of composition Li2[(NpO2)2(MoO4)2(H2O)]·8H2O (I), Na4[(NpO2)2(MoO4)3(H2O)]·5H2O (II), Na5[(NpO2)(MoO4)3]·5H2O (III) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. In compounds I–III, the coordination of Np atoms is constituted by pentagonal bipyramids. Structures I, II (NpO2+ : MoO42– ratio 1 : 1, 1 : 1.5) have a layered structure. In structure I, NpO2+ dioxocations are combined into pairs via the cation-cation interactions. Compound III (1 : 3 ratio) has a chain structure, with the lowest denticity of molybdate ions reached in this case.
