Abstract

Deposition rates of monodisperse aerosol particles and 218Po molecules, covering a size range between 0.85 and 200 nm, were measured in a chamber made of glass. It was found that the deposition constant follows the general theory of Crump and Seinfeld ( J. Aerosol Sci. 5, 405, 1981) taking n = 2.6. Measurement of the deposition rate of 218Po molecules showed that electrical effects are of no account in chambers made of glass which are properly treated.
