Abstract
A least-square numerical method for calculating the minimal molecular weight of a protein from data on its amino acid analysis has been developed and tested on fourteen proteins. This technique was found to be more suitable than conventional methods for obtaining a priori values for protein molecular weights and for assessing the accuracy of the amino acid analysis.
