Abstract

A nickel(II) complex of acetylpyrazine 4N-dimethylthiosemicarbazone, [Ni(Pz4DM) 2], has been synthesized and characterized by its spectral properties. Its crystal structure shows the two ligands coordinated in a mer-configuration and bond lengths and angles are compared with other thiosemicarbazone complexes. The complex, in contrast to the uncoordinated thiosemicarbazone, shows no growth inhibition against two human pathogenic fungi, Aspergillus niger and Paecilomyces variotii.
