Abstract

Of the millions of spermatozoa in a single ejaculate, which are fit to participate in fertilization and can sustain development to term? One recently appreciated characteristic of spermatozoa believed to play critical role is its epigenome. Jena et al. herein investigate how cytosine methylation at the insulin‐like growth factor 2 (IGF2) locus in sperm could influence a bull's fertility.
