Abstract

Abstract—A model of a clustered binary medium that describes the anomalous behavior of the linear (Lorentz–Lorentz function) and nonlinear (nonlinear refractive index) optical properties of supercritical CO2 is proposed. The validity of this model describing the anomalous behavior of the nonlinear refractive index of supercritical CO2 in the vicinity of the Widom line is verified using a numerical simulation of the molecular dynamics of CO2.
