Abstract

Molecular deformation response of tobermorite 11 Å (a mineral analogue to C-S-H, the primary constituent of hydrated cement paste) under uni/tri-axial loading (both tension and compression) has been investigated in this manuscript using empirical and reactive force fields. A comparison has been chalked out amongst the responses using different force fields. Evolution of atomic environment during the deformation have studied using reactive force field. This study demonstrate the key observations on the application of different force fields to study the large deformation behaviour of the material.
