Abstract

The conversion of symbolic nucleotide sequences into genomic signals allows to use signal processing methods to analyze genomic data. This approach reveals striking regularities in the distribution of nucleotides and pair of nucleotides along the sequences, in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Exons re-orientation also reveals a hidden ancestral structure of eukaryote genomes. The methodology is also adequate for studying the development of pathogen resistance to treatment. Mutations in certain well defined loci, can consistently be linked to pathogen resistance to certain drugs.
