Abstract

Hydrogen interaction with RG-Ti graphite, boron-doped RG-Ti, POCO and pyrolytic graphite has been studied. For all the above graphite materials, hydrogen sorption isotherms and isobars were obtained in a wide range of sample temperatures and hydrogen pressures. Hydrogen release kinetics were studied by means of step isothermal annealing and the thermal outgassing method using linear heating. The experimental data are treated in the range of model including diffusion, trapping and interface processes. In spite of many common features, these graphite materials are not identical with respect to hydrogen sorption. For this reason each candidate material needs its own data base for hydrogen inventory evaluation. The resultant inventory is calculated by means of computer simulation for isothermal and nonisothermal tiles.
