Abstract

Molecular dynamics (MD) method was used to study the process of treating oily wastewater by air flotation. The bubbles generated by the machine combine the suspended oil droplets in the oily wastewater in the way of entrapment. In the process of upward movement, bubbles will collide with oil droplets suspended in water, the oil droplets will slightly deform on the surface of foam film, and the oil droplets will stick to the surface of foam film. Moreover, in the process of oil droplets floating up with bubbles, the foam film will further depress the position of oil droplets to the gas phase, and the closer oil droplets will coalesce in the depression, while the farther oil droplets will approach each other without coalescence.
