Molecular core binding energies and multiplet splittings in Cr(CO) 6, Cr(πC 5H 5) 2 and Cr(hfa) ??? as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

Abstract

Molecular core binding energies have been measured for Cr(CO) 6, Cr(πC 5H 5) 2 and Cr(hfa) 3 by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. 'Shifts' in core binding energies and multiplet splittings for the Cr 3s levels are discussed in terms of the electronic structures of the molecules.
