Abstract

A new method for the determinatron of enthalpies of mixing of high melting fused salt systems is presented. The enthalpies of mixing in the molten Lif -KF system were measured at 875° with an experimental error of approximately 1%. The data may be represented by the following relationship between the molar integral enthalpy of mixing and the mole fraction of LiC(X) Δ HM = X(1 - X)[-3878 1051X - 1521X(1 - X)].
