Abstract

The moisture contents of single corn and peanut kernels, single in-shell pecan nets and pecan kernel halves were determined by measurement of the impedance of a small parallel-plate capacitor with the kernel or nut between and in contact with the plates at two frequencies between 1 and 5 MHz. Standard errors of performance ranged from 0.5 to 0.7% moisture, and the method appears useful for practical application.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
