Abstract

The dialogue method implies different forms of conversation. Nonetheless, these forms are represented disproportionately. The catechetical form of conversation is viewed as an archaic method typical of the medieval scholastic approach in religious schools, and so anachronistic that in modern teaching it appears so rarely to be considered a statistical error. Many authors have an unfavorable attitude towards the catechetical form of conversation, though without much dwelling on the possibilities that this method can offer. For the purpose of classification, the paper presents all teaching topics of religious education in primary school. It has been observed that the monologue method appears to be most natural method when teaching new content. However, we would like to focus our attention on those topics that would be quite successfully taught using the catechetical form of conversation, perhaps not during the whole class, but certainly when testing knowledge. In this manner, we would enrich the methodological approach and make teaching more diverse.
