Introduction

Epilepsy is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is hypothesized to arise due to exposure to a broad range of toxicants or alternation in a constellation of genetic factors. These etiological factors can disrupt neuronal development leading to the manifestation of epileptic symptoms. Treatment of epilepsy was improved by several third-generation of antiepileptic drugs during the past decades. Opposition to antiepileptic drugs as well as the inability to resist in 20-30% of the patients led to developing new drugs or strategies for epilepsy treatment (Longhi et al, 2005; Azari et al, 2010).
