Abstract
Objective: The liver-secreted protein Alpha-2-HS-glycoprotein (AHSG) induces insulin resistance in animals, and circulating AHSG is elevated in insulin resistance and fatty liver in humans. Given that effect of free fatty acids (FFA) on insulin resistance, we hypothesized that free fatty acids, might increase insulin resistance by modification of AHSG.
