Abstract

In order for communication to be implemented efficiently in terms of power, bandwidth, and distance, information signal to be sent should be converted into various forms before it is transmitted to the remote end. The process of converting the information signal into various electrical forms using a high frequency carrier before it is sent to distant ends is called modulation. At the far end, obtaining the information signal by extracting it from the carrier signal is called demodulation. The modulation process is performed based on the three basic components of the carrier electrical signal: amplitude, frequency and phase. These three sine variables are the basis of all modulation techniques. In addition, modulation techniques are divided into two categories as analog and digital modulation techniques by considering that the information signal to be carried is in analog or digital form. in this section, analog and digital modulation systems will be explained.
