Abstract

The atomic arrangement of titanium and oxygen on crystalline anatase TiO2 formulates various facets, dominating the TiO2 surface chemistry. Due to its unique surface atomic structure, TiO2 with high‐index facets has received great interest from a wide spectrum of science. Insights gained from the intricate link between the morphological modulation of anatase TiO2 with distinct high‐index facets and the properties of these modifications can expedite the rational fabrication of functional crystals. This review succinctly presents the recent impressive progress on the manipulation of high‐index facets of anatase TiO2, focusing on the comparison of surface energies. In addition, the rational synthesis and the fascinating performance of both high‐index terminated pristine anatase TiO2 and its modified surfaces are collectively discussed. Finally, the perspective of ongoing research on high‐index bounded anatase TiO2 is addressed.
